PROGRAMMER (SERVER-SIDE) About us: We're a German start-up that creates original and appealing online games for social networks and smartphones. Our small team is compromised of industry professionals; our attidude is passionate, results-oriented and geared towards win-win hires. Stay with us for a while to gain hands-on experience in games development and push forward your career while working on exciting games! Responsibilities: * Work hands-on on exciting social games for Facebook and other social networks. * Implement server-side functionality with PHP, mySQL and Javascript, such as new game features, analytics, integration of Facebook API, etc. * Prepare your server code to talk to the Flash client, to get your kick-ass features out to the players. * Take active responsibility in shaping and shipping our games. Must have: * 3+ yrs of general programming experience (include your free-time/school projects). * 2+ yrs of experience with PHP or comparable server-side scripting language (Perl, Python, ASP, RoR, etc.) * 1+ yrs of experience with MySQL or comparable query languages. * 1+ yrs of experience with Javascript. * Proficient with object-oriented programming. * 2+ "released" games or websites (include your free-time/school projects, size doesn't matter). * Solid understanding of Flash-based and HTTP-based online games or websites. * You know that things exist like XSS, Amazon EC2, memcache, ..., (without looking them up). * Team-player, communicative, results-oriented, attention to detail, willing to learn. * Truly passionate about coding. Nice to have: * Knowledge in the domain of social, online and mobile games. * You've made games even before you went to university or GA! * General understanding of development techniques such as Agile development, TDD, unit testing, XP, etc. * Understanding of the LAMP architecture. * Experience with Flash/ActionScript3 or Unity3D/C# (client-side programming). * Experience with the Facebook API.
